I-Remit UK joined in the 1st Barrio Fiesta in Belfast.

To strengthen our relationship with the Filipino Community in Northern Ireland, I-Remit accepted an invitation from Dundonald Filipino Community to join the 1St Barrio Fiesta that was held last July 26 at Brooklands Primary School, Dundonald, Belfast.

Around 200-300 people from various communities and age groups attended the whole day event led by the Council`s Deputy Lord Mayor Jim White and representatives from the Castlereagh Cultural Diversity Group. The event kicked off with a mini-show presenting the various talents of Filipinos through a fashion show of Philippine traditional costumes, songs and dances.

The event gave Mr. James Martines, I-Remit UK Marketing Officer, an opportunity to discuss the product and services of the company together with Mr. Kit Tupaz, Filipino-NI Coordinator and Mr. Alfredo Recio Jr., of Social Security System (SSS). Services offered by Pag-IBIG and SSS were also discussed for the benefit of the Filipino participants.

The organizers hope to arrange an equally successful event next year, if not better, and invite more participants and guests.
